On January 22, 2024, Satlink announced that it had acquired Xeos Technologies.

Satlink, headquartered in Madrid, Spain, is a company focused on the development of proprietary high value-added technological solutions for the maritime sector, focusing on sustainable management and knowledge of ocean resources.

Xeos Technologies, headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, provides specialized asset-tracking solutions and communication services for high-value devices operating under harsh maritime environments and the oceanographic field.

With this acquisition, Satlink increases its presence in North America, where the company initially established a presence in 2020. As such, Satlink will complement its existing locations in Spain, Korea, Taiwan, Seychelles, Ecuador and Fiji with a new office in Canada.

Gowling WLG advised Satlink with respect to this acquisition with a team comprised of Stefan Nasswetter, Georgi Paskalev and Angelique Merakos (corporate/M&A), Elad Gafni (competition) and Malya Amghar (tax), assisted by student-at-law Nicolas Desmats.
