Gowling WLG has been named 'UAE Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year' at this year's Chambers Middle East Legal Awards.
Hosted by Chambers and Partners, the awards recognise a law firm's pre-eminence in key jurisdictions in the Middle East region. They also reflect achievements over the past 12 months including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.
Gowling WLG's UAE IP team have seen considerable growth in the past 12 months, both in the team and client work. In mid-2021 Tamara El-Shibib and Sau Lin Wan joined the team to strengthen the team's renowned trademark practice and introduce technology transfer and patent consultancy as a service. In addition, the team continue to be recognised by the market as a leading firm having won UAE Prosecution Firm of the Year at the MIP Awards in 2021. Jon Parker, head of the Middle East IP practice also remains a leading individual across many of the IP and legal directories.
