Marco Romeo appointed to Advocates' Society's Young Advocates Standing Committee

18 August 2023

The Advocates' Society (TAS) has appointed Marco Romeo to the Young Advocates Standing Committee for 2023-2024.

An associate of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group in Gowling WLG's Toronto office, Marco focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, including with respect to contract disputes, class action litigation, insolvency, director and officer liability issues and defamation. He also represents clients from the United States in disputes that have a cross-border element.

As part of the committee, Marco will help connect young advocates with volunteer opportunities, organize networking and mentoring events, and raise issues of concern unique to young advocates.

The Advocates' Society is a not-for-profit association of more than 6,000 judges, lawyers and advocates from all practice areas. The Young Advocates Standing Committee (YASC) acts as the voice for advocates ten years of call or fewer, providing them with a platform within the larger society, as well as access to a community of peers and colleagues. YASC organizes networking and mentoring events, connects young advocates with volunteer opportunities, and works to ensure that issues of concern to young advocates are addressed within the Society and throughout the profession at large.
