Carl Hinzmann

Carl is a partner at Gowling WLG in Toronto, where he is a member of the Tax Practice Group. His practice focuses on international and domestic tax planning, reorganizations, transactions and advisory services, primarily for widely held private companies, public companies and institutional investors.

Carl regularly advises clients on the income tax and corporate law aspects of cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations. He is experienced in planning and implementing domestic and cross-border private equity funds, complex corporate reorganizations and inbound and outbound investment structures, including structures involving a variety of foreign entities.  Carl has led a number of complex reorganizations from both a tax and corporate perspective.

Carl is listed by Legal 500 Canada as a Next Generation Lawyer in the area of tax.
