Daniel Chomski is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office. He maintains a broad disputes and advisory practice, acting for businesses, governments, public institutions, and professionals in litigation, regulatory, and public law matters.
Dan’s practice is grounded in commercial litigation and includes contract disputes, shareholder claims, injunctions, workplace disputes and internal investigations, procurement matters, and judicial review proceedings. He helps clients understand the issues, assess legal and practical risks, develop litigation strategy, and respond effectively as disputes evolve.
Dan’s approach is shaped by his experience in private practice, federal government, and military service. Before entering private practice, he served as an advisor to federal cabinet ministers, including the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and as an officer in the Canadian Forces Naval Reserve. That background informs his focus on disciplined preparation, sound judgment, and clear advice that reflects the practical context in which clients make decisions.
Dan currently leads Gowling WLG’s involvement in Pro Bono Ontario’s CERB/CRB Overpayment Program, which assists individuals with judicial review proceedings before the Federal Court.
