Domenic Crolla is a partner in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. His practice emphasizes professional and product liability, health law, and information technology matters. He counsels clients in a litigious and non-litigious setting. Additionally, he has an active interest in the application of information technology to professional practice, particularly in relation to the practice of law and medicine.
Domenic is an advocate before all levels of courts and administrative tribunals. He has appeared in a number of complex matters in both a trial and appellate capacity.
Domenic is a frequent author and lecturer, the editor of Electronic Healthcare Law Review (LexisNexis Butterworths), teaches in Osgoode's LLM in Health Law program, and was the regional director of Osgoode Hall Law School's LLM in E-Business. He participated in the drafting of a proposed convention on Telehealth as part of the work of the Sub Committee of Law and Medicine, General Practice Section, International Bar Association.
He is a member of a number of professional societies and has served as trustee, secretary, treasurer, vice-president and president for the County of Carleton Law Association. He is the past chair of the Medicine and the Law Committee, International Bar Association and a past director of the Advocates' Society and Bar-Ex Communications, and is a Fellow of Litigation Counsel of America. He is rated by Chambers, Lexpert, Best Lawyers, and Benchmark.
Between 2007 and 2010, Domenic was a member of the firm's executive committee, and held the position of firm managing partner, internal. Domenic was, until the end of 2021, a member the firm's board of trustees. In 2020 and 2021 he was lead trustee.
Domenic is also honorary counsel to REACH, a national, non-profit charitable organization for persons with disabilities.
