Tim Ryan is a partner in Gowling WLG's Calgary office. He practises actively in the area of health law, professional regulation and professional liability.
Tim's practice includes class action proceedings, administrative law and the defence of medical, pharmacist and engineering malpractice cases. He also has an interest in public and private international law matters.
While at Cambridge, Tim concentrated his studies in public and private international law, including studies at the Lauterpacht Research Centre for International Law. In conjunction with his studies at Cambridge, Tim received an award from the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and British Chevening program.
Outside of his legal practice, Tim is an author and winner of the AlbertaViews short story contest. Tim's work has appeared in The Write Launch, The Prairie Journal, Prometheus Dreaming, and more. In May 2023, Tim released his first novel, East Grand Lake. The story takes place in the summer of 1972 and is a "quick emotional bomb of a book, like a still lake right before the kid-made cannonballs hit."
