Tom Collins

Tom Collins is an associate litigator in the Advocacy Department of Gowling WLG's Toronto office. His practice includes complex corporate/commercial litigation, securities litigation and white collar defence.
Tom obtained his law degree from the University of Toronto. During his studies, Tom published his article, "Common Intentions: The Standard of Review for Standard Form Wills" in the Estates Trusts & Pensions Journal, vol 39, no 2. Tom also won the 2020 Patricia Julia Myhal Scholarship for Excellence in Legal Writing. Tom and his team also won the 2019 Davies Corporate/Securities Law Moot.
During his legal studies, Tom also served as opinions editor for Ultra Vires, the Faculty of Law's independent student newspaper. He was also president of In Vino Veritas, the faculty's wine club.
Prior to law school, Tom obtained his bachelor of fine arts with Great Distinction in art history from Concordia University. Painting remains one of Tom's passions.
