Five Gowling WLG lawyers named in Who's Who Legal: Mining 2022 Global Guide

05 mai 2022

Five of Gowling WLG's mining lawyers have been named the leaders in their field in the Who's Who Legal: Mining 2022 Global Guide rankings.

The guide, which recognises 585 of the top mining practitioners from 445 law firms across 62 global jurisdictions in 2022, names Gowling WLG's lawyers as among the sectors' leading figures internationally.

Praising our firm's global mining capabilities, the guide highlights several members of our team, two of whom received 'Leading Individual' status this year:

  • In the UK, partner Charles Bond, Gowling WLG's Head of Natural Resources (UK), was praised for "over 25 years of experience with related capital markets and corporate finance matters".
  • In Canada, partner Brett Kagetsu was recommended for his "sterling reputation when it comes to mining work" and praised for over 20 years of experience with financing and merger matters.

Each year, the Who's Who Legal: Mining guide recognises the top legal practitioners across the global mining sector and is widely regarded as one of the leading mining legal directories. The results are based on a comprehensive research and consultation process engaging industry leaders from around the world to identify the industry's leading legal professionals.

The following Gowling WLG professionals are recognised in this year's guide:

Canada

UK

The results come following a strong ranking performance in both The Chambers UK 2022 and The Legal 500 UK 2022 legal directories, in which the Projects & Infrastructure and Energy & Natural Resources teams were recognised as two of leaders in the UK, along with top rankings for Emerging Markets, Equity Capital Markets and Mining and Minerals (London), and Project Finance and PFI (Birmingham). In Canada, the 2022 edition of the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory also named Gowling WLG a "leading law firm" in mining in Toronto and Vancouver and included four of the firm's mining lawyers in its rankings.
