Gowling WLG is delighted to announce the arrival of Suhail Mirza as a partner to its Dubai based corporate team. This strategic arrival is a further step in the growth of Gowling WLG's Dubai office.
Suhail advises local and international businesses on corporate and commercial transactions including M&A, private equity and corporate structuring/re-organisations. He also advises on employment matters, for which he is recognised in Legal 500 2020, as well as anti-bribery, regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters for a wide range of clients across all sectors.
Suhail said: "I am very much looking forward to joining Tim and the wider Gowling WLG team in Dubai. Their focus on technology and infrastructure, amongst other areas, is very much aligned with my practice. I am particularly looking forward to working with the leading technology and IP teams on the ground and working with the projects and infrastructure team which has significant regional experience".
Tim Casben, Managing Partner and Head of Corporate (Dubai) said: "Suhail and I have both practised in the UAE for more than 10 years. There are a number of synergies across our areas of focus including, tech, infrastructure and healthcare. Suhail's regional experience adds strength and depth to the corporate practice and he will be a great fit for the team. I am very much looking forward to working with Suhail and building a leading mid-market practice".
Suhail's appointment is a continuation of Gowling Dubai's strategy to build its corporate team; recently bolstered by the hire of Dominique Gustave-Nielsen, a newly qualified associate from our London office, and Sachin Seth, a 3-year PQE associate from our Toronto office. This expansion supports the firm's commitment to focus on core areas of corporate, technology and intellectual property, giving strength and depth to the team's capability to serve clients. Our sector focuses include the tech, infrastructure and healthcare sectors.
