Elizabeth Kurz

Elizabeth Kurz joined Gowling WLG's Advocacy Group as an associate in 2018. Her practice focuses on complex commercial and civil litigation disputes.

Elizabeth maintains a broad litigation practice encompassing contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, construction disputes, class actions, and insurance defence. She has served as counsel at multiple levels of Ontario courts in a range of matters, as well as in private arbitrations.

In 2021, Elizabeth authored the chapter on Rule 76, Simplified Procedure, in Civil Procedure and Practice in Ontario (CPPO), a new textbook published by CanLII and written by leading litigators and experts in Ontario civil procedure. She is the firm's Pro Bono Ontario associate coordinator, and regularly donates her time as a volunteer lawyer with Pro Bono Ontario's free legal advice hotline.

Elizabeth completed her law degree at the University of Toronto, where she was heavily involved in clinical work. She was also the executive editor of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review, and a research assistant.
