Lorraine Mastersmith

Lorraine Mastersmith est l’une des meilleures avocates au Canada dans les domaines du droit des sociétés et des fusions et acquisitions. Forte de 30 ans d’expérience professionnelle, elle est associée à Ottawa, où elle fournit des conseils pratiques et stratégiques sur le financement des sociétés, les fusions et acquisitions, la gouvernance d’entreprise, les contrats commerciaux et les licences technologiques. Elle est particulièrement active dans le secteur technologique et agit tant auprès d’entreprises émergentes que de sociétés bien établies.

Outre son éminente pratique en droit des sociétés, Lorraine est l’associée-directrice de Gowling WLG s.e.n.c.r.l., s.r.l. (Canada). Dans le cadre de ce poste de haute direction, Lorraine est responsable des stratégies et politiques internes visant les professionnels du cabinet ainsi que des questions liées au rendement. Elle assume un rôle de supervision quant au recrutement, à la rétention, à l’avancement et à la rémunération des associé.e.s, avocat.e.s., stagiaires et étudiant.e.s ainsi qu’à la qualité des services juridiques et de leur prestation.

Avant de devenir associée-directrice, Lorraine était chef du service de droit des affaires du bureau d’Ottawa et chef des groupes Technologie, Technologie blockchain et contrats intelligents, Droits des sociétés et droit commercial, et Fusions et acquisitions privées de ce bureau. Elle a également travaillé pendant plusieurs années en tant que responsable des affaires juridiques au sein d’une importante entreprise technologique.

Le flair juridique exceptionnel de Lorraine et son dévouement envers le service à la clientèle ont été reconnus par plusieurs répertoires juridiques de renom, dont Chambers Canada, Legal 500 Canada, Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory et The Best Lawyers in Canada.  

Lorraine est très active dans le milieu des affaires d’Ottawa et, à ce titre, elle a siégé aux conseils d’administration de plusieurs sociétés ouvertes et fermées ainsi que d’organismes sans but lucratif. Elle est actuellement membre du conseil régional des ambassadeurs de Women Get on Board, organisation ayant pour mission de promouvoir l’avancement des femmes qualifiées vers des postes au sein de conseils d'administration d’entreprises.

Avec son mari, Lorraine est également propriétaire et exploitante de KIN Vineyards, un magnifique vignoble situé à 25 minutes à l'ouest du centre-ville d'Ottawa.
