Anne-Marie Brien is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, working in the Business Law Group. Her practice focuses primarily on construction, major infrastructure projects and procurement matters. She recently acted for the Québec Ministry of Transportation in the procurement process for the reconstruction of the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge (design-build-finance).
Prior to joining the firm, Anne-Marie assisted public and parapublic entities, as well as private companies, as part of her participation in the Réseau express métropolitain project (engineering, procurement and construction). She also assisted on matters related to the major repairs to the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel and related works.
In 2014, Anne-Marie earned a license in Civil Law from the University of Ottawa. During her studies, she also participated in the cooperative learning program. As part of the latter, she completed numerous student internships in various areas of law, and was awarded the Co-op Student of the Year prize in 2012 and 2013.
From March 2017 to March 2021, Anne-Marie acted as a volunteer board member and secretary on the board of directors of the Société de développement commercial rue Saint-Denis. Since October 2022, she is a member and secretary of the board of the Montréal Young Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Construction Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association.
