Anna Chen

Anna Chen is a litigation lawyer in Gowling WLG's global Private Client Services Group, focusing on estate litigation and estate law.

Anna assists clients when disputes arise involving wills, trusts, inheritances, estate administration and family property division. She helps clients resolve these issues through negotiation, mediation and litigation, when necessary.

Anna represents executors, administrators and trustees, heirs and beneficiaries. She prosecutes and defends claims to best serve the needs of her clients. Her estate litigation experience includes advising on:

  • claims for unjust enrichment;
  • applications to remove an executor or trustee;
  • claims to challenge an alleged will or trust or to prove their validity;
  • applications for guardianship;
  • applications for dependants' support; and
  • proceedings to obtain court interpretation of wills and related documents, in addition to many other matters.

Anna also practises family law, assisting on matters such as property division claims, spousal support disputes and family law claims against estates. Estate law and family law often intersect, and Anna has a particular interest in bridging the two areas of law.
