Larissa Parker

Larissa Parker is a litigator and regulatory lawyer in Gowling's Environmental Law and Administrative/Public Law Groups. She works across industries and regulated sectors in both English and French. 

Larissa brings expertise in judicial review and appeals. As a former law clerk of the Supreme Court, Federal Court of Appeal, and Federal Court, Larissa has a unique perspective on judicial decision-making and appellate advocacy at all levels of court in Canada.

Larissa is often retained to navigate novel legal issues, complex scientific evidence, and overlapping regulatory frameworks. Clients value her practical advice and first-principles approach to these challenges. She has experience working on matters involving environmental assessment, energy projects and energy regulation, contaminated lands, Indigenous rights, Canadian federalism, as well as class actions. She regularly advises municipalities, landowners, Indigenous governments and organizations, utilities, government agencies, and businesses.

Larissa has acted for clients before all levels of court in Ontario, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. She also has Tribunal experience at the Ontario Land Tribunal, the Alberta Energy Regulator, and the Social Benefits Tribunal.

Larissa holds a BCL/JD from McGill's Faculty of Law, where she was awarded the David Johnston medal upon graduation, and several course prizes throughout her degree. She also holds a Master of Science from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto.
